Pregnant and finding lack of family support hard?

I would break off all contact if my mother did that. She has no right to speak of your child that way, it is derogatory and unfair on her part. You are 25 years old and an independent woman- unfortunately, every facet of a pregnancy is not always positive- and an unsupportive family is your unlucky area. You do NOT need crap like that in your life! You sound like you are doing an awesome job and are doing everything you can for your child. So I think you should ignore your family if they are treating you poorly because you don't deserve it! As far as support goes, you and your man should join a first time parents group- you will meet many couples and singles dealing with many situations, and you will make friends who are dealing with similar problems. The support of friends can be invaluable during a pregnancy, even though your family isn't on your side. You'll do just fine honey, just focus on you, your partner and your daughter! Good luck xx
